Littera Tutor Expectations

At Littera, our expectations are based on three domains: Professionalism, Delivery of Instruction and Compliance.  Below is the matrix listing our expectations and what constitutes being undeveloped, emerging, developed or exemplary in the expectation.

	Upholding high standards of personal and professional conduct at all times, and refraining from any immoral or indecent behavior. Tutors are expected to conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism at all times, serving as positive role models and representatives of the program. Tutors are expected to uphold and reflect the values and mission of the company in all their actions and to avoid any behavior that could compromise its integrity or purpose.	A tutor is required to be a role model for integrity and professionalism. They should promote academic honesty and respect student boundaries.	A tutor consistently promotes integrity and encourages poor actions of the students and other parties in the tutoring partnership. They consistently show evidence of disrespecting student boundaries. 	Tutors are expected to arrive on time for all scheduled sessions and to promptly report any absences or late arrivals to [e-mail]	Tutors are expected to arrive on time for all scheduled sessions. If a tutor is going to be absent for a session, they should decline at least 24 hours in advance and promptly report their reason to [e-mail]	A tutor late declines a session and/or does not arrive on time for a scheduled session. This includes arrivals that are over 5 minutes late and/or no shows.	A tutor may arrive to a session 1-2 minutes late but no more. If the tutor is scheduled for a session, they will attend but may have late declined once in the past. Delivery of Instruction	A stable and reliable internet connection, with camera and microphone on during sessions	Tutors should have a stable and reliable internet connection. This can be determined by the number of drops that a session has, by observations from Littera staff and/or by reports from our partners	The session has more than one drop and/or consistent lagging. Camera and audio are not working properly.	The session has no more than one drop and some evidence of lagging. Camera and audio are functional but may not work properly through the entire session. 	Remain alert, engaged, and fully attentive throughout their scheduled sessions and work hours	Tutors should constantly be engaged and engage the students in their session. Tutors and students should have their cameras on in the session pending extenuating circumstances that have been discussed prior. If a tutor has given prior notice to their equipment not functioning properly, the session would be reassigned until their equipment is working again.	From observations, tutor demonstrates a pattern of being distracted during their scheduled sessions and making no attempt to engage their students	From observations, a tutor may demonstrate moments of being distracted during their scheduled sessions and makes some effort to engage their students	Based on observations tutor is consistently engaged throughout their session and makes engagement with students	Based on observations, tutors and students are consistently engaged and fully attentive throughout their scheduled sessions.
	Able to conduct a session appropriately in the platform with no outside distractions	Tutors should know how to log into the platform and access the appropriate curriculum. They should be able to enter the session and deliver the session using the basic functions of the Littera platform (sharing screen, whiteboard). In addition, they should be in a quiet location that enables them to deliver the session effectively.	A tutor is unable to access their curriculum and/or the Littera platform to the point where it interferes with the session being executed. Tutor is conducting session from places such as (but not limited to): a car, loud coffee shop, school with ongoing bells and announcements or outdoor sporting event.	A tutor has trouble accessing curriculum and/or navigating the Littera platform but is able to enter and deliver a session. A tutor is delivering a session from a place that has some distractions during a session.	A tutor can access the curriculum, enter a session and use the basic functions of the Littera platform. Tutor is delivering session from location that is generally quiet.	A tutor is able to navigate the curriculum and the advanced functions of the Littera platform and use them seamlessly during a session. This tutor is delivering a session from a quiet place with no interruptions/distractions. This tutor can be an example for others.
Compliance	Tutors are expected to maintain the integrity of all company records and documents, and must not make any alterations without proper authorization	Tutors should not company property for personal purposes. Included but not limited to: curriculum, intellectual property, digital files or physical property. 	Failing to observe security, safety, hygiene, dress code, or similar rules or guidelines of the Company	Tutors should ensure that students feel safe throughout the session. Dress as you would for an in-person tutoring session and prioritize a professional presentation. Ensure your clothes are clean and wrinkle-free. Presentation is of discretion of your tutor manager and/or session observer. 	Tutors are expected to dedicate their working hours exclusively to company-related tasks and refrain from engaging in any non-company work or activities during that time.
