When is my next session?
Sessions appear on the Student Dashboard.
Your next upcoming session displays on the left.
- Orange sessions are Online sessions.
- Gray sessions are In Person.
Future sessions show under Your Sessions. You can see the start time, end time, and your tutor here.
Where is my tutor?
Sessions begin at the scheduled start time, provided the tutor is already in the virtual classroom. Please ensure you've clicked Join Now and are in the waiting room. Your tutor should be there shortly!
If you cannot click Join Now, double-check the next session start time on the Dashboard. It may have been rescheduled.
Please contact the coordinator for your school or district for something to work on while waiting for your tutor.
I want to change my schedule
Please contact the coordinator for your school or district with the details of your requested change. We will do our best to keep your student with the same tutor, and put new changes into effect within 48 hours of receiving the request from the school.
How do I re-size my browser screen when trying to join the virtual classroom?
If you receive a message, (as shown in the picture example above), that your screen size is too small, you can increase your screen size by trying the following steps:
- Going to your browser settings, locating the Zoom options, and clicking the minus [-] key to zoom out. Ensuring your Zoom is at 100% as shown below is helpful.

Keyboard Shortcut: Holding the control [CTRL] or command [CMD] key on your computer keyboard, while clicking the minus [ - ] key until the error message is removed.

iPad and tablet users should hold their devices horizontally (as shown below) for the best virtual classroom experience.
- On touch screen devices, a user can also use two fingers to pinch and zoom out, (as shown in the picture below).
Please see the video example below which demonstrates how to find the quick browser zoom-out option if needed on a computer device. (Video Tip: Click the squared icon towards the bottom right corner of the video to view in Full screen mode. Click the icon again to exit Full screen mode.)

Here are a few troubleshooting steps to help reduce iPad technical issues.
- An iPad user should hold their device horizontally for the best classroom experience.
- Students or an adult can try using this link (https://app.chime.aws/check#), prior to a scheduled session, to run through a quick test to ensure the iPad device is ready for the Littera virtual classroom.
- Kindly close or quit any iPad apps that are open if they are not needed during your session. Closing all other apps can help improve device performance and speed while in the virtual classroom.
- On the iPad device permissions page, please click the blue "Allow Microphone" and "Allow Camera" buttons to enable your video and audio. Then choose the "Next" button.
- Also, please ensure that the Front Camera option is selected.
- In the virtual classroom, please ensure that the Camera and Microphone icons are toggled [ON] as shown below. (The blue icons shown below are indicating that the Camera and Mic are turned off.)
- Please be sure to check your Microphone, Camera and/or Speaker settings in the virtual classroom to ensure the correct output device is selected. Click the small carrot icon as indicated in the picture below to ensure the appropriate device is selected.
Note: If a student is using a headset with a microphone, please be sure that the headset has been selected. (When your Microphone is enabled properly, users in the virtual classroom will be able to hear you. When your Speaker is enabled properly, you will be able to hear users in the virtual classroom.- If your tutor is unable to hear you, please try clicking the small carrot icon next to the Microphone [^], then kindly toggle the options shown on your device to see if this helps to resolve the audio issue.
- If a student is having issues viewing whiteboard tabs(as shown below), please try the following steps.
- First, try refreshing the iPad browser page by selecting the reload browser icon. If this step does not help, please try the next few steps below to zoom-out.
- Try using the iPad browser Zoom options, by tapping the small [AA] symbol located at the top of the page.
- Choose the small "A" icon on the left to zoom out. (If needed, tap this icon until all features in the LVC are visible)
- Or you can choose the larger "A" icon to zoom in. (If needed, tap this icon until all features in the LVC are visible)
- The virtual classroom whiteboard tabs should become visible after trying a zoom-in or zoom-out browser page change.
- First, try refreshing the iPad browser page by selecting the reload browser icon. If this step does not help, please try the next few steps below to zoom-out.
- Periodically a student might experience a connection issue, or the browser page might freeze. If needed please try refreshing your virtual classroom browser page by clicking the More Tools button and then select Connection Refresh.
- Try clearing the iPad browser cache using the following steps.
- On the iPad, please click the Settings icon (as indicated in the picture below).
- Scroll to Safari. On the right side of your screen please scroll and search for "Clear History and Website Data."
- Select this option and choose "Clear." This will help to clear browser history, and may help to resolve issues occurring in the virtual classroom.
- On the iPad, please click the Settings icon (as indicated in the picture below).
- If a student's iPad seems locked in the vertical position/orientation, try checking the Rotation Lock setting using the following steps:
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPad screen to open Control Center.
- Tap the Rotation Lock button to ensure it is unlocked so that the device can be rotated horizontally.
- As a last resort, if a student has tried to enable the Camera and Microphone to no avail, an adult can assist further by visiting the Settings app to adjust the Safari device permissions as needed.
- Navigate to the Settings App.
- Choose Safari and then scroll to the Settings for Websites area.
- Click Camera and choose the Ask option. Click Microphone and choose the Ask option. (When navigating back to the virtual classroom, the student should be prompted to enable permissions again.)
- Navigate back to the Student Dashboard to re-join the session or refresh the session browser page. When prompted to enable permissions again, please choose the "Allow" button.
- Note: The "Ask" setting option for the camera and microphone indicates that a user will be prompted to re-enable both permissions regularly. The "Allow" setting option indicates that the camera and microphone settings are enabled by default. These settings can always be adjusted as needed.
- Navigate to the Settings App.
Can I use my phone for tutoring?
No, at this time mobile phones are not supported. In order to meet screen size requirements in the Littera Virtual Classroom (720p x 1280p), students are kindly asked to utilize a computer or tablet device for their virtual tutoring sessions.
When using an iPad or tablet device, students should hold the device horizontally as shown below.
